Students in Nigerian universities have been encouraged to embrace digital skills and self-employment opportunities while still in school to help tackle unemployment and gain professional experience early.
Speaking during the Future Forward Campus Tour at Yakubu Gowon University in Abuja, the Co-Founder of SkolaKonnect, Obehi Ogbeide, said the platform was created to help students earn income, build portfolios and connect with clients before graduation.
According to her, the platform allows students with skills such as graphic design, video editing, writing and social media management to offer services to clients within and outside Nigeria.
Representatives of the platform and its partners also encouraged students to continue learning and improving their digital abilities to remain competitive in the evolving global economy.
