POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTS OVER ARMED ROBBERY IN NIGER, RECOVER WEAPONS

The Niger State Police Command has arrested two suspects over alleged armed robbery in Minna and recovered dangerous weapons during the operation.

The arrest followed a report that armed individuals invaded a hotel and robbed guests of their valuables. Police operatives from the Maitumbi Division were deployed to the scene, leading to the arrest of the suspects identified as Abba Umar, 28, and Zakariya Abubakar, 23.

In a separate development, police in Mokwa also arrested a 27-year-old suspect over alleged motorcycle theft. The suspect was intercepted during a patrol operation while in possession of a motorcycle, which is believed to have been stolen.

The Police Command says investigations are ongoing, while the suspects have been transferred for further action and prosecution.
