The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch and its Human Rights Committee have called for stronger cooperation between lawyers and the police to strengthen justice delivery in Lagos.

The appeal was made during a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Ikoyi. Discussions focused on improving dialogue, protecting rights, and enhancing investigative and judicial processes.

Both sides also explored possible areas of collaboration, including capacity building for police officers, structured engagement on justice-related matters, and joint sensitisation programmes.

The police leadership reaffirmed commitment to people-centred policing and expressed support for sustained partnership with justice stakeholders to build public trust and accountability.
