The Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN) has called on young Nigerians to reject political violence, ethnic hatred, religious intolerance and electoral manipulation ahead of future elections.
Speaking at a youth engagement programme in Abuja, the forum urged political leaders to stop using regional, ethnic and religious divisions to influence young people for political interests.
The group also called on political parties to create more opportunities for youth participation in leadership and candidate selection processes. It further recommended a reduction in nomination form costs for young aspirants seeking elective positions.
The forum raised concerns over insecurity, unemployment and the state of public school infrastructure, while urging government and stakeholders to invest more in youth empowerment, education and community policing initiatives.
