Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Amb. Jimoh Ibrahim, has called for urgent global action to address rising geopolitical tensions, arms proliferation and emerging security threats.
Speaking during a visit by participants of the United States Army War College to Nigeria’s Mission at the UN in New York, Ibrahim warned that artificial intelligence, cyber warfare, drones and autonomous weapons are creating new global security challenges.
The envoy also said President Bola Tinubu’s administration remains committed to strengthening Nigeria’s military capacity through improved funding, welfare and international partnerships.
Ibrahim added that Nigeria is intensifying diplomatic engagement at the UN to promote peace, security, innovation and investment through global cooperation.
