INEC says more than 1.4 million NYSC members will be deployed nationwide for the 2027 general elections.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, disclosed this during a meeting with the NYSC leadership in Abuja, where both organisations discussed continued collaboration ahead of future elections.
According to INEC, corps members remain a key part of election operations across Nigeria, supporting activities at polling units and assisting with the use of digital election technologies such as BVAS.
The commission also said measures were being improved to strengthen the welfare, safety and training of ad hoc staff ahead of the 2027 polls and upcoming off-cycle elections.
