Abuja, April 29, 2026 — Troops of the Nigerian Army have stepped up operations in Zamfara, neutralising four terrorists and dismantling multiple camps in a targeted patrol.
The mission, carried out by the 1 Brigade Quick Response Force, swept through Wonaka, Ajja, and Gidan Mai Aiki villages, with a major clash reported in Ajja.
According to operational reports, troops overpowered the terrorists with superior firepower, killing four and recovering weapons, including AK-47 rifles, a locally made gun, magazines, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
Beyond the casualties, several camps used by the armed groups were destroyed—disrupting their hideouts and logistics base.
The operation signals continued military pressure aimed at weakening terrorist networks and restoring security in the region, with officials noting that troop morale remains high as offensives intensify.
