WATER AT LAST: SFH BOREHOLE ENDS YEARS OF SCARCITY IN EDO COMMUNITY

Ekpoma — Relief has come to Ikekogbe community in Edo as Society for Family Health (SFH) commissioned a motorised borehole, ending years of water scarcity and health risks.

The project, funded by Procter & Gamble under the WASH for Healthy Lives initiative, is expected to curb diseases like cholera and typhoid linked to contaminated water.

Local authorities say the impact goes beyond water—improving health, dignity, and daily living. Residents, who previously depended on unsafe sources, have welcomed the intervention as long overdue.

Officials also stressed the need for proper maintenance and community ownership to keep the facility running.
