The Nigerian Army has inaugurated a new three-classroom block at LEA Primary School in Rigachikun, Kaduna—linking education directly to national security.
At the event, the GOC 1 Division, Maj.-Gen. Abubakar Wase (represented by Brig.-Gen. Timothy Opurum), said lasting peace goes beyond military force and depends on human development, trust, and empowering young people.
“Investing in education is investing in security,” he said.
The project, executed in partnership with the Barakallahu Youth Forum, aims to improve learning conditions and inspire future leaders.
Community leaders, including representatives of the Zazzau Emirate, praised the initiative, noting that educated societies are less vulnerable to crime and social unrest.
School authorities also welcomed the development, saying it would boost teaching and learning in the area.
The Army says such civil-military projects will continue as part of efforts to build trust and strengthen peace from the grassroots.
