REMI TINUBU FLAGS OFF PROJECTS, FOOD PROGRAMME IN BORNO

Listen

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has commissioned key projects in Maiduguri, including modern nursing quarters and two mega primary schools built by Gov. Babagana Zulum.

The new quarters—eight fully furnished blocks—aim to improve living conditions for healthcare workers, while the schools come with ICT centres, solar power, and sports facilities to upgrade learning.

She also launched the North-East Community Food Bank Programme, designed to tackle child hunger and malnutrition, especially among under-six children.

Beyond infrastructure, about 2,000 vulnerable women received empowerment support—₦100,000 each plus sewing machines—to boost livelihoods across the state.

Tinubu praised Zulum’s people-focused projects, noting they would strengthen healthcare, education, and social welfare in Borno.
