NEW DELTA CP MOVES TO BOOST POLICE–MILITARY SYNERGY

Listen

The newly deployed Delta Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, has hit the ground running, calling for deeper collaboration between security agencies to tackle crime more effectively.

During a strategic visit to the 63 Brigade Nigerian Army operating under Operation DELTA SAFE, Oyeniyi stressed that intelligence sharing and joint operations are critical—especially in the state’s riverine and coastal flashpoints.

He noted that closer coordination between the police and military would strengthen response time, improve surveillance, and enhance overall public safety.

Responding, Brigade Commander Moronfolu Shonibare assured the police boss of full cooperation, reaffirming the military’s readiness to support crime prevention efforts and maintain law and order.

He added that sustained engagement between agencies remains key to building a more effective security architecture in the state.
