The New Nigeria People’s Party has fixed May 26 for its primaries across all elective positions—from state assemblies to the presidency.
According to spokesman Ladipo Johnson, the party will adopt a consensus approach nationwide, aiming to avoid internal clashes as it prepares for the big race.
The date has already been communicated to Independent National Electoral Commission, which recently verified the party’s structures—effectively backing the current leadership under Bala Mohammed.
Johnson also took a swipe at expelled members challenging the party’s leadership, calling their legal moves “shadow-boxing” and insisting court rulings have already settled the matter.
With internal battles still simmering, NNPP says it’s focused on mobilisation—urging Nigerians, especially youths and professionals, to join its growing base nationwide.
