EDO GOVT DISOWNS AIDE OVER THREATS TO OPPOSITION

Listen

The Edo Government has distanced itself from a viral video where an aide to Gov. Monday Okpebholo, Emmanuel Eghogho, allegedly threatened opposition figures, including Peter Obi.

Commissioner for Information, Kassim Afegbua, said the comments are personal and do not reflect government policy, stressing that the administration rejects political intimidation.

He added that Edo remains focused on governance—roads, healthcare, security, jobs—and not attacks on opposition voices.

The government also highlighted ongoing reforms, including digital systems, infrastructure projects, and economic plans like CNG buses to ease transport costs.
