NIGERIAN ARMY INTRODUCES NEW SYSTEM TO TRACK TROOP PERFORMANCE

Listen

The Nigerian Army has unveiled a new Standardised Evaluation Framework designed to boost accountability, sharpen performance, and improve combat readiness across all formations.

The initiative was highlighted at a sensitisation seminar in Abuja, organised by the Army Headquarters Department of Standards and Evaluation.

Representing the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, Maj.-Gen. Everest Okoro said the system will help identify strengths and weaknesses in units, close operational gaps, and strengthen mission effectiveness.

He described the department as the Army’s internal “quality control arm,” responsible for ensuring compliance with operational standards and readiness benchmarks.

According to him, the move reflects a stronger push for discipline, professionalism, and continuous improvement across the force.

The Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation, Maj.-Gen. Bobby Ugiagbe, added that the framework will standardise evaluation processes and align Army operations with global best practices.

The seminar brought together senior officers to deepen understanding of the new performance tracking system and ensure full compliance across formations.
