The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit has dismissed a viral post claiming its operatives are arresting motorists around Sheraton Link Bridge and Toyin Street.
Spokesperson Abdulraheem Gbadeyan described the report as false and malicious, insisting the agency is not carrying out traffic enforcement.
According to him, the Taskforce has stayed off traffic duties since April 1, following a directive by Fatai Tijani, and is now focused on environmental enforcement and tackling street crimes.
He also warned against impersonators exploiting the confusion to harass motorists.
