The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency has sealed 30 construction sites across Abuja over violations of environmental laws.
Affected sites include firms like Primgate Reality and XTadok Nigeria Limited in Wuye, and Samdus Limited in Asokoro.
According to DG Innocent Barikor, the crackdown followed inspections that exposed poor compliance—especially failure to provide proper environmental documentation or respond to regulatory directives.
The agency says the move is to halt risky construction practices, enforce compliance, and protect public health.
Key concerns? Poor waste management, building on flood-prone or sensitive areas, and unchecked dust pollution.
