The Moro Descendants Development Union has accused the Kwara State Government of sidelining traditional rulers in Moro LGA for over two decades.
Its President, Rueben Akano, says since 2003, Moro chiefs have been excluded from all grading and upgrading exercises—despite similar communities benefiting.
He pointed out that while 65 monarchs in Kwara South were recently elevated, Moro—part of Kwara North—still has no graded chief or functional traditional council.
Akano also criticised the Emirate structure imposed on the area, calling it contrary to the people’s wishes.
The union is now urging Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to correct the imbalance, restore the status of key monarchs like the Oba of Jebba and Ohoro of Shao, and recognise Moro’s traditional institutions.
