GROUP CRIES FOUL OVER ‘SMEAR CAMPAIGN’ AGAINST MILITARY PENSION BOSS

Listen

The Northern Security Advocacy Group has alleged a coordinated campaign to discredit Mikail Abdulraheem, Chairman of the Military Pension Board.

Speaking in Abuja, the group’s spokesman, Jonathan Onoja, claimed the attacks are being driven by some retired military officers unhappy with ongoing reforms.

According to him, Abdulraheem’s leadership has improved transparency, sped up pension payments, and introduced digital verification to eliminate fraud and “ghost beneficiaries.”

The group says these changes are easing access for retirees and cutting red tape—but may have upset vested interests.

NSAG has now thrown its weight behind the chairman, urging the public and media to ignore what it calls “sponsored narratives” and allow reforms to continue.
