Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has directed the immediate repair of buildings damaged by a windstorm at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko.
The storm left a trail of destruction male hostels, the multipurpose hall, kitchen, staff quarters, and parts of the state coordinator’s residence were all hit. Despite the damage, no lives were lost.
An emergency response team, including NYSC officials, quickly stepped in—relocating corps members to nearby classrooms to keep activities running.
Bago described the situation as worrying but assured that urgent repairs would restore normalcy and protect the welfare of corps members and staff.
