Stakeholders under the Forum of Southern Kaduna CDAs have declared a “state of emergency” on voter registration, warning that low turnout in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) could weaken the zone’s political influence.
Chairman, Dr Samuel Achie, raised the concern at a major meeting in Kachia, urging leaders across 54 ethnic groups to ramp up mobilisation and beat 2023 registration numbers.
His message was blunt: population without PVCs is wasted political strength.
The group is now pushing door-to-door sensitisation, setting up registration support desks, and working closely with INEC to boost numbers before the 2027 elections.
Achie also stressed that higher voter registration doesn’t just win elections—it improves development prospects, political appointments, and resource allocation.
