The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) says it responded to nine emergencies between April 20 and 25, 2026, ranging from fires to road accidents and rescue operations.
According to LASEMA, quick intervention stopped a tanker fire in Majidun and an NDLEA office blaze in Oshodi from escalating, while a scrap fire at Owode Onirin was also contained without damage.
Emergency teams also rescued a train accident victim at Cappa Bus Stop and secured a leaking fuel tanker along Ifako-Ogudu.
However, tragedy struck on the Third Mainland Bridge where two people died in a crash, and in Bariga where a 4-year-old girl fell into an uncovered well. Search operations are also ongoing for a man who jumped into the Lekki lagoon.
LASEMA urged residents to take safety seriously and report emergencies via 767 or 112.
