The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) says a potential tragedy was averted after a 40-foot container fell onto a Toyota Camry at Daleko Bridge, inward Isolo.
The accident happened when the container detached from a truck due to a mechanical fault while climbing the bridge, crashing onto the car and forcing a temporary shutdown of traffic.
Miraculously, all three occupants of the car escaped unhurt.
Emergency teams—including LASTMA, FRSC, and the Nigerian Army—quickly stepped in to control traffic and prevent further incidents, while recovery efforts began immediately.
LASEMA says the container has been stabilised, though operations are ongoing to fully clear the scene. Officials are now urging truck operators to prioritise proper maintenance to avoid such near disasters.
