KATSINA CP WARNS NEW CRIME UNIT: ‘RESPECT RIGHTS OR FACE CONSEQUENCES’

Listen

The Katsina State Police Command has cautioned operatives of its newly formed Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) to operate strictly within the law and avoid any form of human rights abuse.

Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar-Fage, gave the charge after a three-day intensive training, stressing that the unit must reflect professionalism, discipline, and integrity in all operations.

He warned officers against extortion, misconduct, and rights violations, saying accountability will not be compromised.

Umar-Fage also urged the unit to embrace intelligence-led policing and work closely with communities to improve crime response and prevention.

The command called on residents to support security efforts by providing credible and timely information to help tackle violent crime in the state.
