Listen

The Kano State Police Command has rescued a 2-year-old boy, Aliyu Muhammad, and arrested three suspects linked to his abduction in Gwammaja Quarters, Dala LGA.

Police say the child was taken right in front of his home on April 19, after which the family was forced to pay N1 million ransom but the suspects still refused to release him.

Following a directive from the Commissioner of Police, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad launched a coordinated operation, traced the hideout, and arrested Hassan Umar (26), Abdullahi Hamisu (19), and Hussaini Saminu (24).

Investigations revealed the boy was held in one of the suspect’s homes within the same community. He was later **rescued unhurt and reunited with his family, while N930,000 of the ransom was recovered.

Police praised the operation as precise and intelligence-driven, warning that Kano will remain “unsafe for kidnappers.”

Residents have also been urged to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities.
