Precision airpower has once again dealt a heavy blow to insurgents in the North-East, as the Nigerian Air Force intensifies its offensive against terror camps.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its latest airstrikes have destroyed terrorist hideouts in the Southern Tumbuns area of Borno State, further weakening insurgent capabilities and movement in the region.

According to a statement by NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was carried out on Friday evening around Ali Sheriffti, a known terrorist enclave, following credible intelligence on insurgent activities.

He explained that surveillance aircraft first tracked suspicious movements along concealed routes before identifying structures hidden under thick vegetation.

“After confirmation, precision strikes were carried out on the targets, successfully destroying the structures and degrading terrorist operational capacity in the area,” the statement said.

NAF said the operation reflects its continued push for intelligence-driven and precision-based missions aimed at denying terrorists safe havens across the country.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, reaffirmed the force’s commitment to sustained pressure on terrorist networks, stressing that air operations would continue with greater intensity.

“The Nigerian Air Force will keep pursuing and dismantling terrorist enclaves with precision and resolve,” he said.
