The Action Peoples Party (APP) has inaugurated its local government and ward executives across Ideato North and South in Imo, declaring itself the state’s main opposition force.
At the ceremony in Akokwa, Rep. Ikenga Ugochinyere said the party is ready to “aggressively” challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in upcoming elections.
According to him, APP’s growing structure and grassroots mobilisation position it as a serious contender, with plans already underway to expand its reach across polling units.
He also highlighted ongoing constituency projects, including boreholes, transformers, and health centre upgrades, promising a rollout of completed projects soon.
Party leaders urged the newly inaugurated officials to stay disciplined, united, and focused on delivering electoral victories.
With structures now in place, APP says the battle for Imo’s political space has just begun.
