Former Agege LGA Vice Chairman, Gbenga Abiola (aka Agbelebu), has declared his bid for the Agege Constituency I seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly ahead of 2027.
Speaking in Dopemu, Abiola said he would only run if Speaker Mudashiru Obasa chooses not to recontest, pledging loyalty to his political mentor and promising to continue his legacy.
He highlighted his grassroots experience—as former sole administrator and council boss—saying he’s well-prepared to step up and deliver for the people.
Abiola also promised people-focused representation, warned against violence during APC primaries, and urged supporters to stay united behind party leadership.
Supporters at the event described him as tested, trusted, and widely accepted across Agege.
