Peace advocate Rafiu Lawal says rising insecurity across the country highlights the limits of military force and the need for broader, non-kinetic solutions.
Speaking in Abuja, the Executive Director of Building Blocks for Peace Foundation noted that despite military gains, banditry, terrorism, and communal clashes persist.
According to him, the root causes—poverty, unemployment, injustice, and weak governance—must be tackled to achieve lasting peace.
He called for investments in education, jobs, healthcare, and stronger community engagement, stressing that security is a shared responsibility, not just a government task.
Lawal also warned that corruption and weak institutions continue to undermine progress, urging more transparency and people-centred policies.
