NVBF PROMISES HITCH-FREE SUPER CUP KICKOFF MONDAY

12 clubs, big stakes, and a new era for Nigerian volleyball

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has assured fans of a smooth and well-organized Super Cup, set to kick off Monday, Feb. 2, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Speaking after Sunday’s technical meeting, Adamu Tenimu, Chairman of the NVBF League Management Committee, said the tournament has returned after a long hiatus to boost volleyball development in Nigeria.

“We have reviewed all arrangements and put in place security, medical, and welfare plans to ensure a hitch-free competition,” Tenimu said, adding that all teams will be housed within the stadium complex to reduce movement.

The 2025 NVBF Super Cup features 12 clubs—six each in the men’s and women’s categories—from the Premier and Division I leagues. Teams will compete in pool formats, with semifinals, finals, and ranking matches determining positions 1–6. Prize money and the Super Cup shield await top finishers.

Day One fixtures include:

Men: CNS Spikers vs Bye, Ajase Ipo VC vs Nigeria Correctional Service, Nigeria Customs Service vs Life Camp VC

Women: Federal Fire Service vs COAS Spikers, CNS Spikers vs Excelsior VC

The Super Cup follows the 2025 CGC Volleyball Premier League, where NCS claimed the women’s title for the third straight year, and CNS won back-to-back men’s titles.
