Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed readiness to deepen collaboration with the World Bank Group, targeting sectors like energy, agriculture, tourism, and human capital development.

Speaking on Sunday at Lagos House, Marina, while hosting a World Bank delegation led by Managing Director (Operations) Anna Bjerde, the governor highlighted Lagos’ reforms under the THEMES+ agenda, which propelled the state from 29th to 1st in the national Ease of Doing Business ranking over four years.

“We are open to partnerships that strengthen infrastructure and accelerate inclusive growth,” Sanwo-Olu said, emphasizing Lagos’ commitment to reforms that attract global support.

Bjerde praised Lagos for policy consistency, reduced bureaucracy, and reform-driven stability, noting the city’s strategic importance. She revealed the World Bank plans a five-year country review to assess progress and leverage Lagos’ capacity to boost private sector financing.
