The Lagos State Police Command has detained two suspects, a 36-year-old Nigerian and a 49-year-old Polish national, over the alleged operation of a high-tech indoor cannabis farm at a residential property in the Apapa area of Lagos.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, saying the facility was discovered on Monday, November 2, 2026, at about 8:15 a.m. following credible intelligence received by police operatives.
Adebisi said the operatives searched the premises and uncovered a sophisticated indoor farming facility allegedly equipped for the cultivation, harvesting and processing of substances suspected to be cannabis. She added that the suspects were in police custody and had made confessional statements while providing information to assist ongoing investigations.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Tijani, visited the scene to inspect the facility and receive a briefing on the investigation. He commended the operatives for their vigilance and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling drug-related offences and dismantling criminal networks across the state.
The police spokesperson said investigations into the discovery were ongoing. Tijani also appreciated members of the public for their cooperation, urging residents to continue providing timely and credible information to support efforts to combat crime in Lagos.
