NAVY MARINES NEUTRALISE 34 TERRORISTS IN LAKE CHAD OPERATIONS

Listen

Nigerian Navy Marines, working with the Army’s 403 Amphibious Brigade under Operation HADIN KAI, have reportedly neutralised 34 terrorists in separate offensive operations around the Lake Chad area.

The Director of Naval Information, Capt. Abiodun Folorunsho, disclosed this in an operational report on Saturday, October 31, explaining that a revised battle damage assessment put the number of terrorists killed during an October 28 operation at 28, up from the initial figure of eight.

Folorunsho said the Navy Marines also carried out a separate strike on Friday against an identified Boko Haram enclave at Dumba. He explained that intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions helped locate the terrorist hideout before a precision strike was launched. Preliminary assessments indicated that about six terrorists were neutralised, while several others sustained injuries, although the figures remain subject to verification.

The naval spokesperson said the recently established Navy Marines had strengthened joint operations under Operation HADIN KAI by improving the military’s capacity to target terrorist enclaves and disrupt hostile activities around Lake Chad. He reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to intelligence-driven operations aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities, protecting vulnerable communities and restoring peace and stability in the North-East.
