Mixed reactions have continued to trail the emergence of Temitope Chigbue, popularly known as Temi Nkem, as winner of the 11th season of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show.
Temi won the “Show Ya Sef” edition at Sunday’s grand finale, defeating Aikou, who emerged first runner-up, in a closely contested final vote. Official results showed Temi secured 25.87 per cent of the votes against Aikou’s 23.68 per cent, while Sheba finished second runner-up with 9.80 per cent.
Her victory made Temi the fifth female winner in BBNaija history after a 70-day competition involving 24 housemates. She also became the recipient of a N160 million prize package comprising N90 million in cash, a brand-new SUV and other sponsored prizes.
Following the announcement, fans took to social media to congratulate Temi, while others argued that Aikou deserved the crown and called for improvements in the voting process. Some reactions also questioned Temi’s UK residency, although no evidence was presented to suggest that her participation or victory breached any BBNaija rule.
The season featured weekly tasks, Head of House games, nominations and several twists, including two disqualifications and a voluntary exit. Despite the controversy surrounding the outcome, Temi’s victory ended a 70-day journey marked by drama, romance, surprises and competition for the coveted BBNaija crown.
