A woman delivered a baby girl on Sunday, October 4, at the venue of the inauguration of the Community Investment Fund under the Nigeria for Women Programme in Katsina State.

The state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Aisha Aminu-Malumfashi, disclosed the development while welcoming Vice-President Kashim Shettima to the ceremony. She described the birth as a blessing to the programme and women across the state.

Aminu-Malumfashi said the World Bank-supported initiative, implemented in collaboration with the Katsina Government, was designed to provide women with financial support and promote greater economic independence. She said beneficiaries had received training in financial literacy, savings and financial management to help them strengthen their businesses and support their families.

The commissioner said the programme had contributed to more stable household incomes, improved children’s access to education and efforts to address malnutrition. She also welcomed Shettima’s visit, describing it as a demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and enterprise development.
