Nigeria today, October 1, 2026, marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, commemorating the day the nation gained independence from British colonial rule in 1960.
Sixty-six years on, Nigeria’s journey has been marked by challenges, resilience, achievements and the enduring determination of its people to build a stronger and more prosperous nation. The anniversary offers an opportunity to reflect on the past while renewing hope for a better future built on unity, peace, opportunity and shared progress.
As Nigerians celebrate at home and abroad, may our diversity remain a source of strength and our collective efforts continue to shape a nation where every citizen can aspire, thrive and contribute to national development.
Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria!
From all of us at NewsUltra360, we wish Nigerians a peaceful, prosperous and memorable Independence Day. God bless Nigeria!
