JAMB EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR OUTSTANDING 2021-2025 ADMISSIONS TO NOVEMBER 30

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates with outstanding admission offers from the 2021 to 2025 admission exercises to November 30, 2026.

JAMB spokesman, Dr Fabian Benjamin, on Wednesday September 30, said the extension followed the temporary unavailability of the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) for about 96 hours. He said the additional time would give affected candidates a final opportunity to accept or reject their outstanding admission offers.

Benjamin warned that candidates who fail to take action by the new deadline would no longer be allowed to accept or reject the offers within the current window. Any subsequent request to update an admission record from the affected years would attract the applicable penalty fee.

He explained that candidates who accept their offers would be able to print their admission letters, while those who reject them would have their dashboards changed to “Not Admitted”. He also advised candidates who are no longer studying at institutions where they were offered admission to follow the appropriate procedure for correction or deletion where applicable.

Benjamin said candidates with outstanding offers from previous years who have received admission in the 2026 exercise could reject the earlier offers without affecting their current admission. He added that maintaining accurate records was important because candidates whose admissions were not reflected on the matriculation list could face difficulties accessing benefits such as participation in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.

JAMB urged all affected candidates to act before November 30, stressing that any outstanding admission offer from the 2021 to 2025 exercises that remains neither accepted nor rejected after the deadline will automatically revert to “Not Admitted” on the Board’s records.
