The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his leadership style, while praying for divine guidance, stability and economic restoration across Nigeria.
Ogunwusi spoke on Monday, September 28, in Ile-Ife after paying homage and performing traditional rites at his royal family home as part of activities marking the 2026 Olojo Festival. He urged political leaders to emulate what he described as Tinubu’s vision and focus on improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
The Ooni called on leaders to see public office as an opportunity to serve humanity rather than pursue personal interests. He also urged them to promote peace, unity and prosperity while avoiding divisive politics, stressing that the collective interest of Nigerians should remain paramount.
He equally called on citizens to support initiatives that promote peace, national progress and sustainable development. Ogunwusi said the Olojo Festival extended beyond Yoruba cultural heritage, describing it as a global celebration of thanksgiving, hope, restoration and divine intervention. The festival attracted traditional rulers, government officials, politicians, tourists, cultural enthusiasts and other dignitaries.
