The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it has deployed more than 170 ambulances and 60 Zebra points across Nigeria to strengthen emergency response and rescue operations on the roads.
The Corps clarified that the figure does not represent the number of ambulances currently operational or serviceable nationwide. FRSC said an updated fleet-status report would be required to confirm the current number.
The Corps also said faster response to road traffic crashes remains a management priority in 2026, with efforts ongoing to strengthen rescue deployment and collaboration with relevant agencies.
