The Super Eagles have commenced full training ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign, with all 23 players now in camp in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom.
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, Wilfred Ndidi and Samuel Chukwueze joined the squad on Tuesday, September 22, completing the team after 20 players had earlier arrived. The session began at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, at 6 p.m. and lasted two hours.
Super Eagles media officer, Promise Efoghe, said the players went through warm-up exercises, ball work and tactical drills under Head Coach Eric Chelle. The technical crew focused on positioning, passing patterns, movement, combinations and execution of the coach’s tactical plans.
Nigeria will open its AFCON qualifying campaign against Madagascar in Uyo on Sept. 25 before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau on Sept. 29. The Super Eagles are also scheduled to play Russia in an international friendly on Oct. 6.
