The Federal Government, state governments and Local Government Councils have shared N2.338 trillion in revenue for August 2026, according to the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
The distributable amount comprised N1.565 trillion in statutory revenue and N773.233 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT). The Federal Government received N804.897 billion, states received N794.313 billion, while Local Government Councils received N555.142 billion. Benefiting states also received N184.388 billion as 13 per cent derivation revenue from mineral resources.
FAAC said total gross revenue available for August was N3.685 trillion. Gross statutory revenue declined from N4.359 trillion in July to N2.850 trillion in August, while VAT revenue increased from N793.968 billion to N834.843 billion.
The committee also reported increases in Petroleum Profit Tax, Hydrocarbon Tax, VAT, CET Levies and Excise Duty, while several other revenue streams recorded declines.
