Residents and commuters in Karu, Federal Capital Territory, have welcomed the completed township road project, saying it has improved movement, reduced flooding and contributed to increased economic activity in the area.
The 15-kilometre road network, stretching from Karu Interchange to Customs Clinic Junction, also covered key feeder roads including DSS Road, NIA Road, EFCC Road, Primus Hospital Road and Old CBN Quarters Road.
Residents said the improved roads, drainage and streetlights have eased some of the traffic and flooding challenges they previously experienced, particularly during the rainy season.
The contractor, Abdul-Val Nigeria Ltd, said the project also generated employment for residents, with up to 259 workers recruited, mostly from host communities. The development is being seen as a boost to mobility and local economic activity in Karu.
