Umar Yar’Adua and Gabriel Kayod are set to face off in a three-round boxing bout in Abuja on Saturday.
Yar’Adua announced the contest on his Instagram page, saying the fight will take place at Lavish Loft Lounge, Gwarinpa, from 6 p.m. Tickets are priced at N2,000, while an after-party will follow the boxing contest.
Yar’Adua has increasingly used social media to document his interest in boxing. In a recent video, he said the sport appealed to him because it gives him an opportunity to test himself independently of his family background and public expectations.
The event will combine the boxing contest with entertainment activities, including the scheduled after-party.
