World Rugby educators have arrived in Nigeria for a five-day technical capacity-building programme designed to strengthen coaching and match officiating structures in the country. The programme, organised by the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF), will hold in Abuja from Sept. 9 to Sept. 13.
According to the federation, participants will receive training in Level 1 and Level 2 Coaching, Level 1 and Level 2 Match Officiating, First Aid in Rugby, Intensive Care in Rugby (ICIR) and Safeguarding Essentials.
The programme will also feature assessments for Level 2 Match Officiating and World Rugby Educators, including quality assurance assessments for Nigerian educators.
The NRFF has urged coaches’ associations, the Referees Society and other technical personnel to mobilise their members for the programme. The federation said the exercise would help build a more qualified technical workforce and strengthen Nigeria’s rugby development structures, describing the visit as the final planned World Rugby visit under the current development programme.
