Listen

The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has expressed profound sadness over the death of Dr. Samson Dotun Oladipo, describing him as a gentleman, distinguished journalist, former newspaper editor and publisher of Eagles Online.

In a statement signed by NGE President Eze Anaba and General Secretary Onuoha Ukeh, the Guild said Oladipo distinguished himself throughout his decades-long career through professionalism, courage, intellectual depth and commitment to journalism and nation-building.

The Guild described the late journalist as a committed member whose contributions supported the growth of the professional body and the wider Nigerian media industry. It said his work as an online publisher also reflected his commitment to the development of Nigeria’s digital media landscape.

According to the NGE, Oladipo was more than a media practitioner, describing him as a respected colleague, mentor and contributor to the evolution of Nigerian journalism. His death, it said, represents a significant loss to his family, colleagues and the wider media community.

The Guild said the late journalist left behind a legacy of hard work, professional excellence, courage and service that would continue to inspire those who knew and worked with him.

The NGE extended condolences to Oladipo’s family, friends, colleagues and associates, praying that God would grant them strength to bear the loss and grant the deceased eternal rest.
