West African comedian and content creator Amadou Larwanou, popularly known as Wanousky Montana, is using a documentary tour of Niger Republic to showcase the region’s cultural heritage, landscapes and tourism potential to a global audience.

Montana told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that West Africa’s scenic locations, historical sites, wildlife and cultural traditions could significantly boost tourism and create economic opportunities if properly promoted.

The comedian, who has more than three million followers across social media platforms, said the project focuses on documenting Niger’s culture, traditions, landscapes and everyday life. He has so far visited Dosso, Tahoua and Agadez, with the project beginning in March 2026.

According to him, the initiative is aimed at presenting Niger beyond conventional narratives while promoting cultural preservation, tourism, local businesses, international exposure and national pride. He is collaborating with Mai-Mota, an audiovisual studio, on the project.

Montana urged West African governments to support creatives in promoting the positive cultural and tourism potential of their countries. He also encouraged African artists and comedians to use their platforms to showcase the continent’s beauty, heritage and opportunities to the world.
