The Society of Women in Taxation (SWIT), Kano State Chapter, has inaugurated its new executives for the 2026/2027 financial year, with a pledge to promote professionalism, capacity building and stronger collaboration in the tax sector.

The new State Coordinator, A’ishatu Salisu, said her administration would create more opportunities for members to improve their knowledge, professional skills and networks. She noted that digitalisation, emerging technologies and changing business models were transforming taxation and making continuous professional development essential.

Salisu also pledged to strengthen partnerships with tax authorities, government agencies, professional bodies, academic institutions, women-focused organisations and the private sector. She said greater interaction among tax practitioners, legal professionals, administrators, academics and entrepreneurs would encourage knowledge sharing and practical solutions to industry challenges.

Assistant State Coordinator and Chairperson of the Investiture Planning Committee, Hanatu Jibril, described the event as a celebration of leadership and the growing contribution of women in taxation. She reaffirmed SWIT’s commitment to professionalism, tax compliance and best practices while commending outgoing Coordinator Hajiya Maryam Fagge for her contributions.

Fagge urged the new executives to build on previous achievements and lead with unity, integrity, inclusiveness and innovation. The incoming leadership assured members that consultation, participation and respect for diverse views would remain central to its administration.
