The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun has commended corps members deployed as ad hoc staff during Saturday’s governorship election for their discipline, commitment and professionalism.
The NYSC State Coordinator, Ekeng Kubiangha, monitored selected polling units across Ede South, Ede North, Olorunda, Osogbo and Egbedore Local Government Areas to assess the safety and welfare of corps members. He expressed satisfaction with their compliance with operational guidelines and safety directives.
Kubiangha said the corps members discharged their responsibilities without fear, intimidation or undue interference. He also commended the Situation Room officials, Zonal and Local Government Inspectors for effectively coordinating and monitoring the election personnel.
The coordinator appreciated security agencies for protecting corps members and praised INEC officials for promptly responding to issues reported from the field. He said the cooperation among stakeholders under the Inter-Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) contributed to a peaceful and orderly exercise.
He reiterated NYSC’s commitment to the safety and welfare of corps members, urging them to continue upholding professionalism, national service and the ideals of the scheme in their duties.
