Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has won re-election, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the 2026 governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke winner at the state collation centre in Osogbo after results from all 30 local government areas were collated. The governor polled 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji secured 444,815 votes, giving Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes.
Reacting to the result, Adeleke thanked the people of Osun for renewing his mandate and said the victory reflected their confidence in his administration. He also disclosed that President Bola Tinubu had called to congratulate him on the electoral victory.
The governor called for unity following the election, extending an olive branch to his opponents and promising an inclusive government. “There is no winner, no vanquished in this election,” Adeleke said, adding that Osun belongs to all its people.
Adeleke said his second term would focus more strongly on industrialisation, investment and job creation, with plans to attract investors, support small businesses and create more opportunities for young people. He urged residents to remain peaceful and united as his administration begins its next phase.
