Afro-house singer Niniola Apata is set to return with a new single, “O Du Mi,” scheduled for release on Aug. 14, months after the death of her husband, Michael Ndika.
Ndika, who was married to the singer for 13 years, was the CEO of NaijaReview and also served as Niniola’s manager. Following his death in May 2026, the singer publicly shared her grief and described him as her best friend, confidant, business partner and husband.
Niniola said “O Du Mi” reflects her personal journey through love, loss and healing. Sharing a preview of the song, she wrote: “Some feelings are too deep for words. So I put them in a song.”
She has gradually returned to public engagements and live performances, saying she believes her late husband would have wanted her to continue making music and sharing her talent. Known for hits such as Maradona and Designer, Niniola’s new release marks another chapter in her Afro-house career.
