The Kaduna State Government has equipped selected primary healthcare facilities with medical equipment and essential supplies to improve healthcare services for mothers, newborns, children and adolescents.
The intervention, supported by Global Affairs Canada through UNICEF, includes motorbikes, refrigerators, weighing scales, blood pressure monitors, orthopaedic chairs, public address systems and smart televisions.
Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe said the initiative reflected the state’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare and ensuring residents have access to quality services regardless of their location or circumstances.
She urged beneficiary facilities to properly use and maintain the equipment, while calling on communities to support primary healthcare centres, encourage antenatal care and ensure timely treatment for children and adolescents.
